On Monday, fellow list member Gregg Mindt and I fished Beaver Lake near
Issaquah. We only had about an hour and a half to fish, but it was
plenty of time to nail some nice bows. Gregg and I each hooked a dozen
and landed several, with Gregg being the "Big Rod" of the day, by
landing a fat, beautifully marked, exactly 20 inches on the nose,
rainbow trout. Coincidentally, his "Big Rod" was his new 7'6", four
weight. It looked like a lot of fun. Fish were taking small, olive
buggers on a dry line with long leaders and a slow retrieve. Jeff Hale
