I spent several days before Christmas casting for steelhead off Whidbey
island but had no luck. Apparently the fish didn't think my Christmas fly
was as appealing as I did. Didn't see anyone hook anything so I don't
suppose that there were many fish around. I did manage to meet a couple
of friendly flyfishermen (and a couple of spin) on the beach though.
Does anyone have an update since Christmas? If the reports that I am
hearing from the rivers are right it sure seems like there should be fish
swimming the shore of the island. Also, has anyone been fishing the
Sky? I thought I would try for a couple of hours tomorrow morning.
