Hi everybody,

Fished Cady lake on Saturday with only two other fly fishermen but not even a bite. The weather was sunny but cold. I saw couple of fish making rings and a few more in the shallows but they weren't hungry.  This was the first time I have been skunked at this lake. Does any one have any cold water tactics they can share?

The fishing get together sounds like a great idea for the second week in April, before that it's usually slow at best (in my experience) if you fish in the Columbia basin lakes.

I did get two Fortson fish two weeks ago in front of a group of bait chuckers, the only winter runs I've had the pleasure to release this year. Weekends can be unbearable up there with so many people this time of year so I only go after work if the day allows.Fun Fun Fun.

Take care all,

Patrick

I fished Lone on Christmas Eve and it was really, really cold. No fish.
I imagine that the homeowners around Pass would like to see it stay FF only. The Powerbaiters would be out in droves if the regs changed.

You asked about Pass or Lone Lake.  Sorry I forgot to post this after
fishing Lone last Friday.  It was COLD.  Lots of short strikes, three
hookups, one to the pontoon boat.  The one I landed fought for a few seconds
and then sort of slid in.  It appears that the fish are pretty sluggish from
the cold.  I got pretty sluggish myself.  Wound up kicking with one foot at a
time to keep the other out of the water.
Speaking of Lone Lake, we need to keep the contacts with DFW going
about keeping it special regs.  The Everett FFF guys have worked hard to get
this designation, but I'm hearing that there is pressure to return to the
powerbait and five fish limit.

            Still thawing, Ed Morrison
