Spent half a day on Rocky Ford Thursday. Fishing was consistent and fairly good for a guy who does not do extremely well on spring creeks. Using some techniques a friend showed me on Silver Creek, I managed to hook and land around 3  trout an hour.  All my fish came while "bobber fishing" on a black beadhead midge, size 16. Tried a PT, glo bug, scud with no success. There was a BWO hatch that lasted for a couple of hours. I never did see a fish take an adult, but they were certainly taking emergers of somekind. I caught one of the biggest trout ever (for me) 6-7 lbs but what a dog. It never took more than 20 feet of line. That same fish in BC would have taken at least half my backing a couple of times. But I did enjoy the few smaller "firecrackers" that I landed. Not a lot of options this time of year.
