I loaded up the one man pontoon and gear and headed out to Rattlesnake
Lake. Well was I in for a surpriseWhat was I thinking? Of course the lake
was postage stamp size and it was a 150 yard trek from the ramp to the
water, too far to carry the boat and there were already 10 or more people
out already and it looked crowded.
Well I was not to be stopped it was a beautiful day and I would find
another lake. I thought about Langolis near Carnation and thought that it
was not run off dependent and might be a good alternative. Well it was.
Yeah there were guite a few boats on the lake but its a good sized lake but
Id never had much luck on it the two or three times Id been here before.
That all changed yesterday.I caught 18 fish lost about 5 others within 3
ft. of the boat and missed numerous takes that were just quick nibbles.
Actually one of the best days of fishing Ive had ever. I got 18 on the
Yakima last year so this ties that day in number of fish although the Yak
fish were of course bigger.
Used two flies. Caught the first fish on an 18 or so adams and then
switched to a olvie wolly and caught all the rest on that fly. I talked to
guy who was coming off the lake and he suggested a six pack and gave me one.
I never like to fish an only fly so if I lose it I don't have one to tie by
so I picked the closest fly I had, a olive wolly with a red glass bead head.
Tight lines my friends,
