Be sure to reference your tide book before going. Very high tides can make
for tight backcasting and sometimes no beach at all. Also be ready to chase
those Narrows coho salmon. The tide runs hard through the narrows which
really pushes the bait up and down the beach. Coho can move fast -- and
do -- to catch up with the krill, sand lance or herring. I would opt for
parking at Doc's. Always remember that Leland a bonifide adventurer when it
comes to finding fishing trails and little-fished backwaters. It is part of
his charm.
