A very interesting fishing report . I am curious about the#8 TDC pupa you
were fishing. Was it tied on something like a Tiemco 2302 ? If so,that makes
them about one inch in length and bigger than any midge pupa I have seen in
Eastern Washington , though I know they do exist, and especially further
north across the border. Size 10 and 12 adults tie in with a size 8 pupa, as
the adults are usually a size or so smaller than the pupae they come from.
But then again, I have frequently fished size 10 and 12 emergers to match 10
and 12 pupae , with no complaints from the customers.
Chironomids and trout are interesting beasties, are they not ?
