I know at least one fly club is planning an overnighter at Merrill in
mid-July. Hope they have a camp host by then.

Subject: Merrill Lake Report
Hi Everyone
For all those SW Washington and NW Oregon members,
I spent about 5 hours on Merrill Lake today. Five
or six fish to hand, nothing bigger than 12 or 13 inches
and mostly browns. One long range release of a fairly
decent fish. Most were caught on a Prince Nymph fished
deep. We fished from about 7:30 to 12:30. I think the
evening would be more productive.
At the turn off from HW 503, the Forest Service has a
sign announcing that the campground and boat ramp on
Merrill are closed. Luckly we didn't turn around and
go home. The campground is closed for lack of a camp
host. The boat ramp is open. But the campground closes
at dusk which is going to throw a monkey wrench into the
Hex hatch this year.
Anyone else fishing Merrill?
