Kudo's to ALL who did this site. The layout is top-notch clean, and
efficient. And above all it is FAST on my slow connection, something a lot
of sites forget in this age of T-1 & DSL service.
I for one would like to request a "links" section, where we can add one
with a comment line or two. There is just so much good stuff out there
that no one can know every good link site around. Maybe break it into
areas like informational, retailers, etc?
Thanks again from a frequent lurker but not all that frequent fisher. I
simply live vicariously...

Subject: New WAFF web site launched
At long last, the Washington Flyfishers web site is now online. But
before cutting the ribbon and throwing open the doors, a couple of
pre-visit announcements are in order.
First, the new site isn't intended to replace the mailing list -
merely to add to it. Members can use it to post photos of their
fishing exploits, share their photos and biographies, read book
reviews, fishing and fly tying articles, buy and sell fishing gear,
and click on the fishing-related links in the resources section.
Most importantly, the site now makes searching the mailing list
archives, subscribing and unsubscribing MUCH easier than before.
But for everyday fishing reports, questions, answers and comments,
the mailing list remains the primary and best means of communications
among WAFF subscribers.
Secondly, the site is very much a work in progress and was created
entire with volunteer labor. The heavy lifters, Wes Nuenschwander,
Sean Ransom and I, had to juggle creation of the site with work,
family, yard work and fishing.
But we certainly didn't build it alone. We're also grateful for the
invaluable contributions of fellow subscribers Earl Harper, Danny
McMillan, Leland Miawaki, Keith O'Leary, Mike Santangelo and Don
Shearer; Christ Faist and Devin Redlich at our host ISWNet; and to
the volunteer beta testers who helped catch what we missed.
One of the great dangers of being too close to the trees this past
year (yep, it really HAS been that long since Wes and I first hatched
a plan to build the site), is that we nevertheless might have lost
sight of the forest.
