That was probably the year that I caught my first steelhead. You were at
the club when I dragged it in...and that fish got dragged! I caught it on
the Cedar and paraded it up and down the banks around Maple Valley and then
I took it up to Soos Creek and dragged it around the Greent for awhile. I
moved to Idaho Falls, last Oct. The snows moved in early and they were
right behind my U-Haul all the way over; the first major snow storm of the
year. Pretty scary going over 4th of July Pass loaded down with all that
gear I got from Eddie Bauer. Sure love it over here though. Just got out
of the jacuzzi; loosening up to pull on the oars on the Henry's Fork
tomorrow. Got an X Caddis tied on and hoping that's the hot fly.(grey
bodied #14) We'll fish from Ashton down, between two bridges. A short run
with lots of fish and blizzard caddis hatches in the evening. I'll make a
run up to Island Park on Sat. and see what is going on. There was a
featured article in today's paper titled,"Cutthroat return to Harriman".
For the first time in 100 yrs. there are native Yellowstone cutts swimming
in Golden Lake. It has been a multi-agency effort and a historical moment
when they released them on Wed. The fish came from eggs from Henry's Lake.
