Hi Sean,

I've used the Odyssey, and like it, but my preference would be the
Power-Pac. The Power-Pac was developed to be the "big brother" to the
Odyssey and, in my opinion, is a much more useful boat for fishing. Rather
than give you a blow-by-blow description of the Power-Pac, I'll direct you
to a field report we posted to our site a few weeks ago:
http://www.riverwire.com/power_pac.html. Here are the reasons I would
rather have this boat over the Odyssey:

1) You can fish while standing - huge benefit on stillwaters.
2) Comes with a motor mount - suitable for an electric or even a small gas
motor.
3) Easier to row - especially long distances.
4) Padded swivel seat - very comfortable and easy to fish from.
5) Bigger - the floor area gives you a lot of storage space, room to work.

Of course, the Odyssey has some advantages. It has a lower price ($559 vs.
$899), you can use fins, and it is more portable (the whole thing rolls up
when deflated). Either one will be a quantum leap from your float tube, but
if you do a lot of stillwater fishing and are looking for a boat that will
satisfy you for the long haul, my recommendation is the Power-Pac.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to write or call.

Subject: fishing kayaks

I put a good size hole in my float tube a few days ago and I am looking
at purchasing one of the odyssey kayak boats made by outcast. I was
just curious if anyone has used one of these types of boats before? I am
thinking I could use it on stillwaters as well as some rivers and
possibly in the sound in protected bays.

I do want a personal boat that is versatile enough to do all three
things with the emphasis on stillwater fishing and any other
recommendations are welcome.

Thanks for any insight you can offer.
