I will be visiting the Seattle area for 10 days at the end of August. Last
time I was in the Seattle area was 4 years ago. My brother-in-law and I
fished the M. Fork Snoqualimie four years ago and had a ball catching small
trout. We were fishing above the Taylor River but before Goldmeyer Hot
Springs, somewhere along the road where it parallels the river but before it
starts to climb towards Goldmeyer. Does anybody have recommendations for
where to fish the river? Above/below Taylor River? Types of flies to use?

I graduated from Franklin High School in 1952 and that summer, several of us
hiked into Pratt Lake to camp for a few days. This was long before when the
Cascades became a popular place for hikers and campers. One day we hiked
down the outlet of Pratt Lake and fished the upper Pratt River and the fly
fishing was fantastic. I was using an old, cheap bamboo rod and probably a
Grey Hackle or Brown Hackle fly. I would like to find where the Pratt River
flows into the Snoqualmite and hike up the Pratt and fly fish it. Does
anybody know where to locate the access point for the Pratt River from the
Middle Fork Road. Is there a mile marker, sign, some indication of where to
park? I think there use to be a logging road up the Pratt River. Anyway, I
am looking forward to getting back to the Seattle area and fishing the
Middle Fork Snoqualimie River.
