Ala Spit is on the east side of Whidbey Island, directly opposite HopeIsland. To get there cross the Deception Pass bridge bridge and drive southon Highway 20 for 2 1/2 or 3 miles and turn left on Troxell Road. Stay onTroxell Road until it comes down to the water. A road turns off to the leftwhere there is an inconspicuous carved wooden sign saying Ala Spit. Followthis road to a parking area at the base of the spit. The parking area andspit are within a county park. The spit is a half-mile long and the bestfishing seems to be in the hundred or so yards from its tip southward.
