I also wet a line at Ala spit today, fishing between about 11 am and 3
pm. The beach had many folks fishing with buzz bombs and spoons, and a
few fish were taken, but none by me. I saw a humpy get landed, and a
silver was long line released by the guy below me.

For those that are interested in going, Ala spit has a nice tidal rip
going much of the day along its east side. The rip is about 75-100 feet
off the shore, so a shooting head or waders are advised. I was using a
WF line, so my casts were short of the rip, but probably in good water.

I thought this was a great place to go for a day's fishing, and my wife
had no complains about sitting on the sunny beach as I fished.
