I was to go fishing for coho with a friend of mine yesterday, but as we
pushed the boat out into the salt water, the engine sputtered and refused to
run. Mechanical malfunction! Sorry, no fishing now. So with not being
able to satisfy my fising needs on Tuesday, we went out on Hood Canal
looking for coho today.
Sad to say we saw a few fish, but not one take the fly. It was frustrating,
to say the least. However, all was not lost as there were some Kings
bouncing around near Hoodsport. Never easy to catch on the fly,
particularly in the salt, I was quite happy to say I landed a fresh 12
pounder on my 6 weight. I guess it just reinforces the idea of "one more
cast before we go." So now I still have to find some of the coho out there
asap.
