Hi Everyone I want to thank everyone that responded to my question on the suitability of Okuma reels for a spey rod. You were a great help. My fly fishing shop had a Medalist 1598 in stock. My new Rio Windcutter (all 150 ft of it) is now safely installed on my new Medalist which is mounted on my new Reddington spey rod and every thing is stuffed into my new rod case.
