I heard that the show was "purchased" by another outfit (same one that does
Puyallup). Heard rumors that they were going to split it into 2 shows, one
hunting and one fishing. I will try to get an update...we've always had a
booth and are trying to find out if we can get the same deal for the club.

Subject: Bummer! No ISE show this year!

I look forward every year to attend the International Sportsmen's Expo
(ISE) held here in Seattle. It's always fun to test cast the new rods,
turn the new reels, sit in on seminars, check out all the newest stuff,
and maybe pick up a bargain or three.

I received my Federation of Fly Fishers magazine yesterday, and I noticed
on the "Show Calendar" list nothing was shown for Seattle. I went to the
ISE website, and there are listings for a several shows everywhere but
Seattle.

I understand there is a new trade show, called the Fly Fishing Show, that
is planned for Meydenbauer in February. I understand these shows have
been held for 8 (?) years on the East Coast with some success, and the
folks are just now heading out West. Seattle, San Fran area, and I think
Denver are the first West shows.

I wonder if ISE isn't coming here this year because of the new show. I've
noticed in the last few years a marked decrease in attendance at the ISE
show, and I'm sure down attendance probably had a big part in the
decision.

Bummer for no ISE, but yay for the new show.
