I've been doing quite a bit of fishing since my business has slowed. But, alas, I have been in a steelhead slump and haven't hooked or landed any since September 29, on the Snoqualmie, the day AFTER returning from a week on the Bulkley in BC, where I was skunked. Hence no reports, mostly out of sheer embarassment.
I have been fishing for steelhead on the Clearwater in Idaho every weekend in October and would never post any reports about it for fear of having to decline a request for more information. Brian Lencho, a fellow listmember, and I have been fishing for steelhead locally on some new waters, so are understandably closed mouthed. I posted a report, disguised as prose on a good day on the Yakima. Since there's no secret about the Yak and it's fall baetis hatches, it's fun to spill my guts. I love fishing the beaches with my poppers for Searun Cutthroat but the fishery is so delicate, I post reports on method but not location - just a generic south sound. Otherwise, help for beginners always seems to materialize out of this group. Part of learning is helping. I'm sure we senior guys (age + experience) are lurking through some of these threads and would jump in if mistakes or misinformation were being posted. I know I would. Sorry for my absence. Leland.
