Sean,

I grew up in central Fl although I haven't been back for almost 20 years now
but this is what I can remember. Sometime in March depending on weather the
bass and bluegill move back to the shallows for prespawn activities. For
saltwater the sea trout should still be on the sand bars especially by power
plant outflows. I can't remember when the bluefish migrate back north
because I didn't grow up on the Atlantic side of the state. Another
excellent thing is the state passed a "no gill net law" and my brother says
the fishing is stupendous and improving every year. He has even caught
tarpon in Tampa Bay which when we were kids were lucky to catch grunts and
drum.

Well i am going to be in Ft. lauderdale for a couple weeks in early March
and was curious if anyone had any tips on fly fishing opportunities around
that time. Will be in the keys but don't want to pay to bonefish. I can
bring a 7 or 8wt down with me.
