My great grandfather passed on a few years ago and left me a fly rod. I think he had stopped fishing before I was born so the setup is at least from the early 70s but I think it may be older. I just got around to picking it up and have to say i know nothing about the maker or reel.
My grandmother says he had it custom made and it is a Sila Flex rod and it looks to be made of fiberglass. The model is an Medallion MF 80. No idea what weight the rod is but I am guessing an 8?? The reel is an old Hardy St. George 3 3/4" which I think they make replicas of nowadays and it had the loudest damn click I have ever heard on a reel. It has a newer WF7S cortland line and the rod casts pretty well considering its age.
