Tiemco makes a fine hook in various configurations that have their own positive attributes. Perhaps it depends on the presentation desired to determine what to use.For example, the Tiemco 105 is a short, stout,  wide gape, with a strait eye hook that is personally my favorite moving water hook. I fish it with dumbells for the weight to get it deep, with this method the hook actually rotates to face up and a upper lip hookup happens almost every time. And because of this upper lip hook up the lower jaw is permitted to open and close allowing the fish to breath properly and fight harder and longer.Conversly I use a down turned eye hook on my wooly buggers for lake fishing, because when a small strip retrieve is the method, the line pulls the eye and creates a swimming to the surface motion which can only be a positive, perhaps the slight extra motion will be the trigger when fishing for finicky fish. My thoughts......
