A couple of other items for you to consider. The Rio is a fine line; up until Rio changed their loops on their lines for the year 2002, my preference in the multi-tip lines would be the Airflo Multi-Tip. Like Rio, they offer 4 different tips (floating, intermediate, 3" per second sink, 7" inch per second sink), but had welded loops, which were superior to the Rio loops. My understanding is the Rio loops, starting 2002, will be welded loops like the Airflo lines.
Now, I'm going to save you some coin. The Airflo lines retail for $99.95, and the Rio lines something like $109.95 (I just know it's north of $100). Cabela's put its name on the Airflo Multi-Tip line, and sells the setup for $59.95. Now, with that $50 savings (over your planned Rio purchase), you can sink that extra dinero into a higher quality reel than the Pflueger. The Pflueger will serve you will, and is very utilitarian; however, you might want to consider some other reels around the $100 range. My recommendations would be the Teton Tioga (a machined reel, great drag, tough, good company, saltwater proof, better looking than the Pflueger, lighter than the Pflueger, more backing capacity than the Pflueger, equires much less maintenance than the Pflueger if you use it in the salt), or the Loomis Adventurer (a great deal at $100 retail, good drag, nice looking, more backing capacity than the Pflueger, llighter and less maintenance than the Pflueger). Okuma reels were discussed ad nauseum earlier in the year, and although they are a great bargain, they aren't nearly comparable to the Teton Tioga or the Loomis Adventurer. Of course, the Okumas cost less, too.
