Actually folks, postcards, form letters and websites like this don't amount
to much more than a sneeze in turning politicians or beaurocrats heads.

First off, being able to verify that everyone of the "entries" are valid, I
can only guess how many folks have entered illegimate entries at Piscatorial
Pursuits.

As to the form letters that seem to be everywhere, just how many will need to
be read before someone realizes that the last 25 letters are identical? And
emailed in? I have 4 different and valid email addresses, so I could vote 4
times by email, and if it weren't for my sig, you might think I lived in
Boston. And, quite frankly, just becase my sig says Kirkland, does mean that
I really am there, I may be in Boston.

The only real way to sway anyone's mind with a letter writing campaign is to
write a good, individual letter, even if it only says "I support Catch and
Release of Wild Steelhead", sign it, and if you are me, attach your WILD ID#.

I say all this from the experience of being on several environmental groups
and that I still work for the government. Environmental groups need to be
smart about lobbying practices, and doing a letter writing campaign well is
one of the good signs that they are on their way to political savviness.

So either get on the bus, or write a good individual letter, but don't clog
the poor guys email or mail box with form letters. They get them by the
pound, and shread them by the ton. A letter can take 5 minutes by pen, or an
hour to describe how important the issue is to you.

Now, I am going back to my letter.
