My wife just bought a box of clear glass ornaments at Rite Aid for .79/ea. I put large bright steelhead patterns suspended from a piece of mono to make a simple and neat looking gift. Large colorful spey type patterns look particularly good, and pearl flashabou gives a neat looking twinkle inside the glass.
And no it is not a stupid idea - in fact my wife is delighted that she can finally see some tangible benefit from all this flyfishing stuff.
