Tom, Preston Singletary (also on this group) gave me a fly to use a couple months ago that I promptly broke. It had a stinger and was about three inches long. I found a fly in my box that looked just like it. Believe it or not, it's called a Bonefish Bunny and is indeed a bonefish fly. It's tied on a single #4, Mustad 3407 with a thin tan 2 1/2" long bunny strip, tied in and super glued, with bead chain eyes. Prestons fly was larger and heavier (maybe he will toss in his recipe if he reads this post).
I fished a Scott 11'9" two-handed 6wt with type III tip (all the while knowing an accidental steelhead would leave me at a serious disadvantage). I believe Preston fishes a 6wt single-hander with a sink-tip which he hates casting. >Leland-- >Winter time Dolly fishing sounds fascinating. What flies/tackle did you use? > >I'm new to this group--been lurking for awhile--like what I see. My >real name is Tom. "Pick and Shovel" (pcknshvl) reflects my vocation. > >T.
