I grew up in Ashland. Though fishing is available, Ashland itself is not a
fly fishing Mecca. In the area, however: Just over the border in
California is the Klamath River--steelhead. I don't have specific
information on the steelhead runs. Nearby in Oregon is the Rogue river, and
apparently steelhead are pushing in as we speak. A little longer trip to
the Klamath Falls area will put you near the Wood River, known for big 'bows
and browns. The fly fishing dept. at the Ashland Outdoor Store is your best
local contact.
