Per an article in today's Spokesman Review, Amber Lake will open on April 1st this
year to offer local fly fisherman a crutch to get them over the hump from the winter
lake closures to the lowland lake opener. This is good news for those of us in
Spokane County. I have to believe that the DFW would like to add a little bit more
season to help thin out some of the over stocked fish in the lake as well as give the
local fly anglers some place to go early season.

Dell, you have any more info on this? This apparently was a recap from a meeting of
the Spokane Fly Fishers with a presentation by a DFW employee?
