Sage quiet taper is really nice, I'm throwing a 2 wt and love the 1/2 normal diameter.  It lays a small dry fly down like a dream come true.

Subject: 4 wt lines

I have tried the Sage Quiet Taper lines on my short, small stream rods.

I understand that the line has a smidge more weight up front than a standard line so it is kind of like over lining. But it doesn't make as much commotion as a 5 or 6 wt line landing on the water.

I use them on my 7'-9" 2 wt and 3 wt. I do however like slow action rods.

I’ll try this again.  God only knows where my first two ended up.  Not on the board though, cause I didn’t get a copy.

I’m trying to find the best line for a 7’ 6” medium action 4wt making short casts on small streams.  Am I correct in thinking that a fast taper WF is what I need?  How about going up a line size since there will be less than 20 feet of line out side the tip?  Any recommendations as to brand, model and weight?
