Preston, I was looking at the Cabelas lace-up waders in their catalog this very morning. I've been enjoying a pair of Ronny breathable stocking foots (feets?) for the past 3 seasons, although with cold feet in all but the warmest water. The list discussion on boot-foot waders has me intrigued by the lace-up feature of the new Cabelas.
I tend to be a bit suspicious of proprietary technologies such as Cabelas Dry-Plus II that are suggested to be the equal brand names such as Gore-Tex. In your experience, how does the Cabelas breathable material compare with others such as Gore-Tex, or those used in Orvis, Hodgeman or Ronny waders? Thanks, Kent >I recently received a pair of lace-up, boot foot Dry-Plus II waders from >Cabela's for a product review. While not as warm as a heavily insulated >boot foot, they are reasonably warm and the lace-up feature makes them feel >a bit more secure in tricky wading situations than a conventional boot foot. >The boot foot is, essentially, a 3-mil neoprene stocking foot bonded into a >rubber boot with a lace-up vamp, while the balance is of Cabela's breathable >Dry-Plus II fabric. It's an interesting idea; Orvis produced a similar one >a few years ago and Chota has one in the works.
