I'm assuming that this post may be another member who has become tired of 40 or more e-mails a day, filling up his in-box?!!
I've enjoyed being a member of this mail group, but I would like to ask the group one question - Why do members have to reply the entire list, when they are only replying to one member???
I'm not meaning to bitch, but I am forced to delete most of these e-mails WITHOUT READING THEM (and this makes me sad) because I can't spend hours on the computer every day!
Could members just reply to a member directly - instead of filling everyone's in-boxes with one-liner replies, agreements and rebuttals??? I thought this list was for the sharing of information, knowledge, and the many great reports (fish-stories!!)
As for the "Lurker" subject - being a yearling in the sport, I've learned many things (and saved many e-mails for future reference) from this list. But when I've tried to reply to, or ask questions from individual members (rather than posting "newbie" questions to the whole list), NO ONE has ever replied to me directly! (This is just the "Net-iquette" that I learned!)
Why do so many new people "Lurk" without contributing...
Do you make the new man/woman feel welcome??? Or is this list really just a "good-ol' boy's" club?? (don't flame me for this!!)
About me: I'm a College Instructor in Kirkland who only works 3 hours a day, and I would love to meet other people on the Eastside (of Lk Washington), who love this sport. As it stands now, I only know 2 people who fly fish, and they are not available very often.
Just my honest opinion and 2 cents worth,
