Title: Fly patterns for King Salmon in the salt
For saltwater fishing, when in doubt, keep it simple and tie up Clousers and Deceivers.  Herring and sand lance/candlefish/needlefish (whatever you want to call them - you decide) and squid are usually the food item du jour, so patterns in those colors would be appropriate.  Remember the East Coast opinion on clousers, though:  "It ain't no use if it ain't chartreuse!".  <grin>

Subject: Fly patterns for King Salmon in the salt

A friend of mine is heading to Alaska on a sea kayaking trip in June.  Can any of you recommend simple patterns that I can tie for him to fish for king salmon.  I usually like to tie up simple clouser type streamers.  Often, I use marabou.  What colors do you guys recommend? Sizes?

Thanks for any help.

James
