Over Memorial Day weekend I was fishing up at my family's ranch and one of my buddies who guides up there told me he had been having good luck using a chironomid pattern with a hot pink butt. I tied some standard black V-rib patterns with a wisp of hot pink yarn in the butt, and believe it or not there were several times during the day when this fly out fished everything else, even the red blood worm, 4 to 1.
