Fished Lake Hosmer on 7/1-2-3 s-l-o-w...
Lots of visible fish and clouds of bugs with very little surface activity. Two fish brought to the boat. Both nice Atlantics w/ broad shoulders. I didn't know Atlantic Salmon put on such an aerial show! Both caught on mayfly nymph droppers- another fish took a Wooly Bugger and still has it. Found myself pondering if stocked Atlantic Salmon behave like trout in a lake... Tried to drag some baitfish-looking streamers in case they thought like salmon with no avail. Other fishermen around the lake and camp also said it was very slow- so it wasn't just my incompetence. Beautiful place to camp and fish despite the lack of action.
