Chum were thick on the SF of the Stilly just east of town. I was
intentionally trying to fish around them to get to one of my favorite SRC
holes. Needless to say it didn't work out well and I hooked a fairly bright
10 pounder who I had hooked up for at least ten minutes. He finally gave a
good head shake and came unbuttoned. While I was stripping in after losing
him, another chum came up on top and hit my bug (Doc Spratley). With all
this going on a 14" SRC beaches himself right at my feet, it appeared that a
Chum had taken a nip at him and chased him up there. He had a fresh wound on
his side, didn't appear to be fatal but he was a little shocked. So I'm
fighting a not so good looking Chum with one hand and reviving and releasing
the SRC with the other. Is it possible that the Chums chased the Cutt up on
to the beach? Anybody seen anything like that before?
