I have both the monic and cortland 555 clear floaters and they are both still "specialty" lines that only see the light of day when I want to fish "really" spooky fish - the monic is "sticky" and does not shoot well, the cortland is not as sticky, but still has abig issue with coiling (hard to shoot those knots) and is a very large diameter for the weight (I guess being hollow does that...)
 
What weight is your monic-  I might well be interested depending on the line weight and what cheap is...

someone asked about these- I got one about 2 years ago, used it one day & would be happy to sell it to you cheap.  Didn't shoot worth a damn- cut down my distance by some 15-20 feet compared to my wulff line. The finish was just not slick.  I think courtland makes a clear floating line now. bill hamilton
