Who are these people I hear about at the shops and where are they fishing on the sky?I'm inclined to believe most of what your friends say and very little of what you hear at fly shops (depending on the shop, of course ;-) 2002 was a brutal year for retailers and fly shops aren't inherently immune to a weak economy. The first goal of any business is to stay in business. Judicious use of anonymous reports of great fishing success, especially those that strongly imply that you should buy some obscure fly pattern or tying materials, can be an effective tool to help make the cash register ring.
