Hello, My name is Steve Johnson. I have enjoyed reading the postings over that last week and guess it is time to introduce myself to the group. I have lived in the Renton area for the last 10 years. I am originally from Montana. My father was a fisheries biologist with the Fish and Game so as you might imagine, I spent a good portion of my childhood and young adult years traversing the state with fly rod in hand. I still try to get back as often as possible.
Since moving to Washington, I have spent the majority of my fishing time on the Yakima. It most closely resembles the Missouri near Craig (my favorite river). I need to expand my horizons in Washington, especially on the west side and would love any suggestions the group may have. I'm pretty much a trout guy but have tried for Steelhead on occasion. While landing lots of fish is fun, I am of the opinion that just getting out on the river is 90% of the experience. I look forward to hearing from anyone with suggestions.
