I still have the last vestiges of my "metalhead" gear and now and again
bring it out. And I will never forget that the first fish of any size I
ever caught was a largemouth bass on a Zebco outfit using a silver Rapala.
What a kick!! Also, because my son and daughter were both intimidated by
the seeming complexity of fly fishing, they were introduced to fishing and
catching fish with spinning gear. I am really grateful for that oppotunity
as they both continue to fish and enjoy it. Flies and gear here - it's all
fishing. Now if we were discussing harvest versus C&R the differences in
philosophies might be a tad more stark... but that's another discussion,
right?
