First off, I never actually snoozed at the show. I will confess to have closed my eyes briefly, but I was only resting them as Don mumbled, bumbled and fumbled. The Nor-vise demo went well for Don. He pimped techniques that he claims can only be done on one. I really liked the stinger hook creation, but I think I can handle that one on my Renzetti. As to the dubbed deer hair, well too much Nor-vise specific tying could really tire out some of us, and we might close our eyes. Hans thought the exploding leech just showed that he happens to the best of us. And hey, you didn't let on Don that it exploded because you cut your thread! It showed up really well on the monitors. But really, the one pattern or technique that I really liked and will have to learn, use and abuse was the Krystal Flash hackle in the Searun Fusion pattern. That is one stylin' technique. But really, even the video camera go kind of bored, as right in the middle of don's first fly, the screen saver kicked in, and poor Don had to get the video tech to fix it up. Otherwise, the show was about the same as last year. Hans and I did it in about half the time that we did last year, when it was all pretty new to us.
