You should be able to type a cents () symbol in any Windows application including both Outlook and Outlook Express by holding down your ALT key and typing 0162 on your keypad then releasing your ALT key.

ALT+0162 =

Subject: Creating a sign

In an earlier post, Sean Grier asked:

Windows makes that character nearly impossible to use. In Word for

Windows, you can go to Insert Symbol, find the sign in the

character map chart and then create a key combination shortcut for

future use. Unfortunately neither Outlook or Outlook Express seem to

offer the insert symbol menu option.

However, creating the sign on a Mac is as easy as typing Option-4.

My 2 ($.02, adjusted for inflation ;-)
