I've been watching the flows on the NF Snoqualmie lately (at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/uv?site_no=12142000) and have noticed that when it's not raining, the flows seem to spike up early each morning before falling later in the day.

Zooming out (http://wa.water.usgs.gov/realtime/htmls/snoqualmie.html), the same early morning spiking seems to occur at other higher-elevation gauges on the MF and SF Snoqualmie, and the Tolt and Pilchuck as well.

It's not as noticeable or occurs later in the day on the lower-elevation gauges.

Anybody know why?

Thanks,

Kent Lufkin
