Grab a sharpie.... On the front: "Will work for flies."
On the back: "Will work extra long hours for a beach popper." -----Original Message----- From: Tom Bowden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, July 11, 2003 3:47 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: How do you make a stripping basket? One of the recent flyfishing magazines had an article on stripping baskets that recommended using 15" deep trash receptacles with plastic cable ties inserted at the bottom to keep the line from tangling. I made one of these & it's much more effective than my old dishpan basket. The line stays in the basket, even when you're walking up & down the beach. The cable ties keep the line from tangling, and therefore it shoots better. The larger basket feels clunky at first, but I got used to it quickly. I used a bungee cord for a strap. My wife saw me trying it on & says I look like a homeless man begging from money. Give it a try! Tom > A simple but effective stripping basket can be made from a Rubbermaid > dishpan.
