Just got back from the lower Stilly (10:30am) and have to report that I got skunked, which is quite embarrassing when fishing for pinks. Saw quite a few jumpers/leapers in the section along Norman Road, but didn't hook up with any fish. Counted 67 fisherman vehicles parked along the put in points and on the bridge north of Silvana. Hopefully, some of those guys had better luck than I.
We moved up to fish the area above I-5 behind the old Strotz's Feed farm and I snagged buck pink (by accident) after wading to the north bank. My buddy was fishing gear (spoons) and never hooked up, either. Weird, since these flies were slaying them in the Sky last weekend. I have not seen the usual numbers of pinks in the lower Stilly this year. But any fishing if better than no fishing.... Regards, Cliff
