I am fully aware of that but had forgot about it until an hour or 2 after I sent the reply to the earlier email.
I was talking with a friend of mine this evening and he would like to know what the state and feds make off of sportsmen. He thought he remembered that there was a special tax on sporting goods (probably fed) I know there is a special tax on ammo by the feds that is suppose to come back in funding projects for federal lands that the sportsman use ect., anyway he would like to compare what the state and feds bring in on licenses, fees, and taxes on outdoor gear and what is given back to budget the fish & game dept. and enhance fishing etc. Also what percent goes to funding projects that other people benifit from besides sportsmen. Like the problem we had a few years ago with the permits to use boat ramps. You know when the fisherman paid for a parking permit and everyone else got to use them for free. Until the fishermen & especially clubs made a big stink about it they where just going to charge the fisherman. How much is taken in on that and how much actually comes back to maintain the boat launches? How mush do they enforce it? and the reason I ask is that all the county sheriff deptartments are suppose to check and ticket violators not just the game wardens. and where does that money go to? Is that happening with anything else? Back to Gov Lowrey, I believe that the main reason he did that was to rape the sportsman and make it almost impossible to track the $$$$$$! That way they can push the publics buttons and say they need to raise taxes on this or that in order to fund fully that or the other, But when it goes into the general fund then they can do what ever they want without us easly tracking the $$$$ and not have to give all the new taxes back to what they claimed they needed it for. We need a new Tim Eyeman to start an initiative to force the state to be accountable with all new fees, charges and taxes. In other words if they collect any $$$$ for a spectific project all of it ought go to that project and not the general fund. If they have a surplus the city, county or state elected officials sould vote on it and when should be able to easly follow the $$$$ trail. I may be wrong in my thinking but you will have to convince me with facts that I do not have. Anyway thats almost a nickle worth of my thinking and it wore me out so I will close and go to bed. It was swallowed up and now funded by WDFW which does NOT have fisheries as its top priority. We use to have out license money go directly to fisheries, but our esteemed Gov Lowrey (not Tim Eyeman) did away with that.
