Thanks for the reply, Bill.  Don Simonson, Ted Pierson, Don Schroder, Paul Ellsberry, and I fished Chico today.  I don't see how the fish see the fly, but we all caught biters.  There were lots of fish.

friend of mine was there today (19th) & did well- lots of water in the creek, but the fish are bunched along the banks to stay out of the flow & they're biting in the salt -according to my source (who does exaggerates somewhat, {kinda like coleman}but is ok)   bill----- Original Message -----

In the same vein of thought, what is the best fly to use for salmon swimming across roadways, lawns, or fields.  ...grin...

Does anyone know with all this rain if the Salt water in front of Chico Creek will still be fishable? I hate to make a long trip over there for nothing.  Thanks
