Title: It's time to pass the WAFF hat to keep the list alive

A small price to pay for all of the combined knowledge on this site (and for the wit and wisdom of Richard Embry).

Done.  I'm glad to have an opportunity to help.  Thanks for all the hard work Sean.

As promised earlier, I've connected with Sean Ransom about the hard costs to keep the WAFF list up and running. The money from our last fund drive ran out in April and Sean has been paying hosting fees out of his own pocket since then. YTD, that amounts to $255.60 ($31.95/month x 8 months).

More than ever, hosting continue to be a commodity business so prices continue to fall since the last time we moved the list. In the next few days, we will move the WAFF list and site over to another host that will cost us just $10 a month, a savings of $21.95 a month.

Meanwhile, it's time for us to pony up to make Sean whole for his out of pocket expenses as well as to prepay costs at our new host.

I'm not suggesting any specific amount for you to contribute. But I think that each of us ask ourselves how important this list is and then contribute an appropriate amount.

Here's how:

1. By PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, you can use a credit card to  make your contribution amount payable to [EMAIL PROTECTED]  It's that simple. If you've never used PayPal, go to http://www.paypal.com and clink on the Sign Up link at the upper right and follow the instructions.

2. By mail. Send your check to Sean at:

Unlike PBS or NPR, we don't have premiums for those who make contributions at certain dollar amounts. Who needs another zinger or a spool of 1X tippet anyway? But trust me, you'll feel better nonetheless. Who knows, you might even catch more fish. Or bigger fish.
