I used tubes almost exclusively in bluewater and inshore fishing for about 2
years.  With 80 percent or more of the material tied on top, it will fish
upright.  I can send you a pick if you'd like.  Doesn't matter if it's
synthetic or natural, plastic tube or metal.  Just pay attention to material
distribution around the tube.
