I also purchased one of these
Orvis vests quite a few years ago, but Kent asked me the other day whether
it was classified as a Coast Guard approved Type III vest. There is no label
on mine stating such a classification, and since Orvis doesn’t sell the
vest any longer, it isn’t easy to just look it up on the web. Anyone
know if it is Type III approved? Kent tells me that I can get cited
for being out in my pontoon boat without a Type III approved vest, so I am
concerned about this, even though I have a lot of confidence in the Orvis vest.
