Fished a favorite Farmlands area for a few hours today, starting at 9:30 or
so. Two fish to hand, one nice one, all colored up. Two LDRs, several
misses. All caught on a rubber-legged black stonefly nymph. The fish
ignored all my droppers. Saw a very few midges, BWOs, and caught one March
Brown in mid-air. Hard to mend the line properly (or cast) in that wind.
Water was a little high for wading to my best spots.
After that, I went up to Bullfrog Road and the John Wayne park for the first
time and messed around. Very clear water, a little high for wading. No
fish, nor any caught by those I spoke to. Still, I've floated this area in
the summer and there are nice fish there. The wind followed me up from
Ellensburg.
How'd everyone else do ?
Tom
