In the surf I throw a 300-grain head with an intermediate running line. I use the Rio Deep-Sea lines in general but I think my 300 is an older Cortland of the same concept. I tried a normal sink tip with floating running line and it is impossible, the surf just keeps picking up the floating line. You need to get the whole line down as much as possible.
